Bushnell Motorsports Park
Recently Chester, Lenny, and I had the opportunity to visit Bushnell Motorsports Park in Bushell, Florida. What an incredible experience we had!
Trophy for BMP’s league racers
Bushnell Motorsports Park (BMP) specializes in high-speed go kart racing. The adrenaline junkies in our group loved this experience. The go-karts hit speeds of 40-45 MPH as the drivers navigate banked turns, a bridge and an underpass. If you look at the course picture below, you can see it is rather extensive. However, according to the manager, this track is design for both the novice and experienced racers.

Approximately twice per month the track is used for corporate events and specialty family outings. The calendar of events is available on their website: www.bushnellmotorsportspark.com
Each driver is fitted with a helmet and a helmet sock. All participants are required to watch a safety video. BMP takes safety seriously as no bumping is permitted and the course spotters will flag you and/or remove you from the course for doing so. If a car spins out, the course spotters wave a yellow caution flag. I witnessed this as one enthusiastic “go-karter” took a turn too quickly.
Go karts lined up and ready to race
BMP is located north about Tampa, west of Orlando, and close to Ocala and Gainesville in Bushnell, Florida. If you enjoy the thrill of outdoor cart racing, come spend a day at BMP. You will be glad that you did.
P.S.-There is plenty of room for spectators both inside with air conditioning, and outside on the bleachers. Always bring a water bottle. It is Florida after all, and water bottles are ubiquitous. My favorite water bottle is found on this link: https://amzn.to/4jdOmP4
All the best,
Jennifer
