Disney’s Lookout Cay
Disney’s newest private island resort, Lookout Cay, Eleuthera Bahamas, is a feast for the senses. The dramatic walk from the pier to the entrance enhances your excitement for the day. (Please note that there are golf carts and wagons for those with mobility issues or families traveling with small children.)
Disney shares this island with Princess cruises. The Princess cruise ships are not able to dock; and passengers have to be tendered from their ship to the shore. If it is too windy, Princess cruises will cancel the tenders and the passengers will have a “day at sea.”
The entrance to Lookout Cay is very festive. Once you have entered the island, you will be shown to a tram which will take you to the beach location. Similar to Castaway Cay, there are two locations: a family beach and an adult beach.

There are photo stops along the way with unique backdrops, such as this one below.

Lenny and I proceeded to the Adult Beach. We noted that their are cabins you can rent for the day, if you are interested. Please check the Disney Cruise Line website for more information.
The scenery on the adult beach was spectacular. I enjoyed a long beach walk while enjoying the breathtaking turquoise color of the water..
Beautiful Beach on Lookout Cay
Lenny and I played on the beach and enjoyed the warmth and the clear blue water. There was occasional marine life, including fishes and crabs. As you can see from the picture above, the beach has a pink hue, due primarily to the quartz.
Notice the beautiful blue water!
Of course, Disney does it right, with a lunch featuring Bahamian specialties as well as barbecue. There are plenty of shaded picnic tables for you to enjoy.
Lookout Cay awaits visitors for relaxation
Relaxing on the beach is easy, as beach chairs, umbrellas and towels are provided for you. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased for an additional charge while sodas are free and available at drink stations. There are plenty of places to shower at the end of your day, or if you prefer, you can just head back to the ship and enjoy your shower in your cabin.
Overall, Lenny’s comment was “Disney does things right! The island is spectacular, probably better looking than Castaway Cay, and the amenities are top notch. “
We enjoyed our time on the gorgeous island of Eleuthera and look forward to returning someday, hopefully soon. Take a Disney Bahamian Cruise; you won’t regret it!
All the best,
Jennifer
