NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship
As you know, this season has been incredible for golf. In the Sunshine State the weather has been beautiful, with clear skies, light breezes and plenty of sunshine.
Taking advantage of the beautiful Florida spring days, the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship tees off at the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens Florida. The tournament which takes place May 19-23, 2025 will feature many golfers and teams, to be decided after the NCAA Division II regional scheduled May 8-10.
Teams expected to advance to the Championship include :Charleston, Gannon and Indiana University of PA in the Atlantic region, St. Thomas Aquanis, Southern New Hampshire University, and Goldey-Beacom in the Eastern Region, Central Oklahoma, Henderson State and Harding in the Central Region, Missouri S&T, Grand Valley State and Wayne State in the Midwest Region, West Florida, Lee and Florida Southern in the South Region, North Georgia, Lincoln Memorial, and Georgia Southwestern in the Southeast Region, Colorado Christian, Oklahoma Christian , and St. Mary’s (Texas) in the South Central Region, and Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay and Chico State in the West Region.
At least the top three teams and the top two individuals not with a team will qualify for the finals. Additionally, eight team berths will be allocated based upon the head to head medal play of the championships. Palm Beach Atlantic is the host institution.
Colorado Christian won the championship last year, defeating North Georgia 5-2. This was the first NCAA Division II Men’s Championship in school history.
West Texas A&M freshman Wyatt Provence claimed the individual title. .Interestingly, he is not listed as a top individual golfer for the South Central Region this year.
If we learned from watching the Masters this year, anything can happen!
